1.5  Catalyzer Web Server

Catalyzer has a built in web server which lets you browse and search your catalogs using a web browser.

  1. Load a catalog (Help > Example Catalogs > General > Mountains).
  2. Save a local copy of the catalog. (File > Save As...). Type "mountains" as the filename.
  3. You can view the catalog in the web server using (Web Server>View In Server). A dialog with a progress bar will appear the first time, as the web server starts up. Close this window once the web server has started.
  4. You can explore the catalog via a web browser using the tree on the left and you can search and browse catalogs just as you can in Catalyzer.
  5. Your colleagues will also be able to view your catalogs by entering the URL shown at the top (http://...:5151/) in their own browser.

By default, when you start up the Web Server, catalogs are accessible to any computer on the network. You can use passwords or address ranges to restrict access to catalogs. The configuration controls are accessible from the Home32.pngHome and Preferences32.pngAdmin links on the Catalyzer Web webpage.
